Job Description Job Description: Support Worker (Complex Needs) Role Overview Support Worker required to provide person-centred care and support to service users with learning disabilities (LD) , autism , and mental health needs , including complex needs and challenging behaviour . This is a temporary, ad-hoc role with shifts paid at £13 per hour . Key Responsibilities Support service users with personal care , including: Washing, dressing, toileting Support with dignity, consent, and choice Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support approaches. Support daily living and community engagement in line with care plans. Assist with: Medication administration (where trained and authorised) Food hygiene and food preparation Dysphagia support needs (e.g., safe swallowing strategies as required) Diabetes awareness (recognise and respond to care needs, follow plans) Epilepsy awareness (understand seizure plans and escalation procedures) Carry out moving and handling safely and confidently, in line with training and risk assessments. Promote independence and well-being while maintaining safety at all times. Essential Requirements At least 12 months of UK care experience . Experience supporting people with: LD , autism , and mental health needs Complex needs and/or challenging behaviour Ability to support personal care , including intimate care. Knowledge/experience relevant to: Medication administration Diabetes awareness Dysphagia Epilepsy awareness Food hygiene/preparation Moving and handling Contract Details Type: Temporary, ad-hoc shifts Pay rate: £13 per hour Sponsorship: No sponsorship available Additional Notes Successful applicants must be able to work shifts on an ad-hoc basis as required.
