The successful candidate will receive full training and practical experience, working alongside experienced engineers and gaining exposure to the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of industrial ice-making equipment. The Role As a Trainee Engineer, you will support experienced engineers on customer sites throughout the UK while developing your technical knowledge and practical engineering skills. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting experienced engineers with the installation, servicing and maintenance of industrial ice machines and associated equipment Travelling to customer sites throughout the UK Supporting engineers with fault finding, diagnostics and repairs Carrying out basic mechanical and electrical tasks under supervision Learning how to service and maintain specialist industrial equipment Assisting with equipment installations and commissioning Following health and safety procedures at all times Completing service documentation and reporting work undertaken Providing professional and courteous service when working at customer sites Developing your technical knowledge through hands-on training and experience Working closely with engineering, technical and service teams About You We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and genuinely interested in developing a career in engineering. Previous engineering experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with: A genuine interest in engineering, mechanics or electrical systems Practical or hands-on experience gained through work, education or personal projects A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills Good problem-solving ability A positive and professional approach Good communication skills The ability to work independently and as part of a team A flexible approach to travelling and working at different customer sites Good organisational skills and attention to detail A strong work ethic and reliable attitudeA relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship or previous technical experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Essential Requirement Due to the mobile nature of the role, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling throughout the UK. Salary & Progression The initial rate for the first 12 weeks will be £12.71 per hour, providing an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your engineering skills. Following the initial training period, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress within the business, with salary and development opportunities reviewed as they become more experienced and competent.
