A leading engineering training provider is seeking an experienced industry professional to join its team as a Welding Instructor. This organisation is a well-established and rapidly expanding Group Training Association, operating multiple training centres across the Humber region. It works in partnership with hundreds of engineering and manufacturing employers, delivering Level 3 engineering apprenticeships and upskilling programmes that support the development of engineering talent locally, regionally, and nationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced welder or fabrication professional looking to take the next step in their career. As a Welding Instructor, you will play a key role in inspiring and developing the next generation of engineers by sharing your technical expertise and real-world industry experience. The role is practical and workshop-based, offering a varied and rewarding working environment where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities- Promoting and supporting engineering apprenticeships
- Training young people through engineering study programmes and apprenticeships
- Delivering regulated qualifications (full training and support provided)
- Using personal and industry experience to help learners achieve their full potential
You will ideally have:
- Strong knowledge of welding, pipe fitting, plating, and/or sheet metal work, with expertise in at least one discipline
- A City & Guilds Craft Certificate or equivalent qualification
- A solid understanding of Health & Safety practices and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and basic IT skills
- A genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting learners
- Assessor and/or teaching qualifications
- Certified TWI coded weld inspector/trainer status
If you do not currently hold assessor or teaching qualifications, full support and funding will be provided through a structured teacher training programme and guidance from a dedicated Teaching & Learning team.
Training & DevelopmentThe successful candidate must be willing to undertake additional qualifications where required. All training costs will be fully funded by the organisation.
Location & TravelThis role involves working across multiple training centres within the Humber region. A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are essential due to regular travel between sites.
