Job Type: Full-Time | Temp to Perm

Pay: £14.04 - £16.73 per hour (Weekly Pay + Overtime Rates)

Shifts: Monday to Friday - 6:00am until finish (Finish time depending on daily production requirements)

Prestige Recruitment Specialists are currently recruiting on behalf of a valued and long-standing client, Cranswick Country Foods Preston, a leading food manufacturer based in Hull. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced production environment with excellent pay rates and long-term career potential.

If you're an experienced butcher, fish filleter, or chef and looking for consistent hours, a supportive team, and the opportunity to secure a permanent role, this could be the perfect position for you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Cutting and preparing meat for processing and packing
  • Trimming, cleaning, and removing excess material
  • Operating slaughter, stunning, and restraining equipment
  • Eviscerating and dressing carcasses
  • Following strict animal welfare and hygiene procedures
  • Carrying out slaughter in line with religious requirements (where required)

Pay Rates:

  • Grade 1: £16.73 per hour | Overtime: £20.91
  • Grade 2: £15.55 per hour | Overtime: £19.44
  • Grade 3: £14.55 per hour | Overtime: £18.19
  • Grade 4: £14.04 per hour | Overtime: £17.65

You will be booked for a block test first to assess your Grade level.

  • Previous butchery or meat processing experience
  • Skilled with knives and meat preparation techniques
  • Reliable and hardworking with a strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working in a chilled environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of hygiene and safety standards
