Prestige Recruitment Specialists are working in partnership with our client, a well-established and growing construction business specialising in modular and offsite construction solutions. Due to continued project delivery and growth, our client is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their Commercial Team.
This role will be based at the Brandesburton location and will report directly to the Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor. It offers an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial mindset to work across a range of modular construction projects.
The Role
The Quantity Surveyor will provide surveying and commercial support to the Commercial Team, ensuring effective cost control, accurate reporting, and robust commercial management across designated projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and subcontractors, contributing to the successful commercial delivery of projects from commencement through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and issuing Account Development Reviews to clients on a regular basis
- Maintaining and updating CPR spreadsheets, ensuring monthly reconciliation with Project Commitment Reports
- Attending monthly CPR meetings and reporting on the commercial position of allocated projects
- Preparing and submitting Applications for Payment to clients in a timely manner and securing client approval
- Preparing, negotiating, and settling Final Accounts within two months of project completion
- Managing the recovery of retention
- Working closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to understand site progress and commercial risks
- Attending regular Project Review Meetings
- Raising PORFs and issuing Sub-Contract Works Orders
- Issuing and managing variations to Sub-Contract Works Orders
- Attending site as required to monitor progress, quality, and subcontractor performance
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor Applications for Payment and issuing Payment Certificates
- Authorising Purchase Orders for payment (receipting)
- Managing and agreeing Sub-Contractor Final Accounts
- Preparing re-measurement reports for the Commercial Manager as required
- Producing project-related commercial reports as requested
- Undertaking additional ad hoc duties in support of the Commercial Team
About You
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Quantity Surveyor with experience in the construction sector, ideally within modular, offsite, or main contracting environments. You will ideally demonstrate:
- A Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying role, we have various roles
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work with minimal supervision and manage your own workload
- A proactive and commercially aware approach
- Willingness to attend site regularly as part of the role
