Purpose of Role
To maintain plant and equipment to ensure operational efficiency, compliance with food hygiene, health & safety regulations, and minimal downtime.
Key Requirements
- Relevant engineering qualification
- Minimum Level 2 Food Safety
- Completion of all mandatory and site-specific training
- Previous FMCG manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Understanding of continuous improvement methods
- Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
- Accuracy, reliability, and ability to meet job demands
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair plant and equipment to high standards, ensuring minimal disruption
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), documenting checks and corrective actions
- Conduct visual inspections on machinery to detect wear, damage, or contamination risk
- Regularly test and maintain metal detection and failsafe systems
- Ensure safe use and maintenance of tools, spare parts, and engineering equipment
- Liaise with management and cross-functional teams regarding breakdowns and maintenance activities
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and workshop cleanliness
- Comply with all food safety, health & safety, and legal standards
- Support KPIs in quality, safety, environment, yield, and customer service
- Attend required training and ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., HACCP, COSHH, H&S Act)
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and highlight areas for operational improvement
- Respect ethical policies and contribute positively to the team culture
