The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Fabrication & Welding Instructor to join their Hull training centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabricator or welder looking to move into training and help develop the next generation of skilled engineers. Previous teaching experience is not essential, as full training and support will be provided to help you gain the qualifications needed to become an effective instructor.
The successful candidate will deliver both practical and theoretical training to engineering apprentices while maintaining the high standards expected by the organisation and its employer partners. As part of the role, you will be required to travel between training centres and employer sites. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as public transport is not a practical option.
About You
You will have strong, hands-on industry experience in fabrication and welding, with knowledge of:
- Welding processes and techniques
- Plating and structural fabrication
- Sheet metal work
- Pipe fitting (advantageous)
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Craft qualification (or equivalent) in Fabrication & Welding
- Relevant industry experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Desirable
- HNC or higher qualification in an engineering discipline
- Teaching and/or assessing qualifications
If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, applications are welcomed from experienced industry professionals. Full support and development will be provided to help you achieve the necessary teaching qualifications.
Salary
- £39,328 - Relevant industry experience (no teaching qualification)
- £39,775 - Level 3 teaching qualification with relevant industry experience
- £40,990 - Level 5 teaching qualification or Cert Ed with relevant industry experience
Benefits
- 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
- Christmas shutdown between Christmas and New Year (7 days of annual leave reserved)
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:15pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Annual bonus scheme (subject to organisational performance)
