Prestige Recruitment Specialists are delighted to be supporting our valued client, a leading manufacturing business, with the recruitment of a Compliance Officer (QHSE). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental professional to join a busy industrial environment and play a key role in maintaining compliance across quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
The Role
Reporting to the Technical and EHS Manager, you will support the delivery of compliance across the site, ensuring that key obligations, audits, inspections, documentation and corrective actions are effectively managed and maintained. You will play an important role in identifying risks, supporting continuous improvement and helping to ensure the business maintains high standards across its QHSE responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Track compliance obligations and key deadlines
- Ensure safety-critical equipment is maintained in good order
- Support regulatory inspections, audits and site visits
- Plan, conduct and support internal audits and inspections
- Identify non-conformances, risks and improvement opportunities
- Track corrective and preventative actions through to completion
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions
- Assist with reviewing and updating procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Ensure QHSE documentation and records are accurate, controlled and up to date
- Assist with incident, accident and near-miss investigations
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Conduct on-site safety training and competence assessments
- Work closely with employees, contractors and internal teams to promote compliance and continuous improvement
About You
The successful candidate will have at least five years' experience working in a health and safety role within an industrial environment. You will also ideally have:
- A strong understanding of EHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer literacy
- Experience working with data, reports and compliance documentation
- The ability to influence and engage employees and contractors
- A proactive, analytical and solution-focused approach
- Experience with risk assessment and incident investigation techniques
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Experience delivering training to accredited safety standards
- Legionella Responsible Person qualification
- First Aid at Work
- RTITB or equivalent accredited vehicle training
- ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 Internal Auditor experience or qualification
- Good understanding of ISO 9001
