Prestige Recruitment Specialists are delighted to be supporting our valued client, one of the UK's leading manufacturers, in the recruitment of three Supplier Quality Assurance Engineers to join their growing Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys working closely with suppliers, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest standards are achieved throughout the supply chain.

The Role

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving supplier performance, ensuring products consistently meet quality, delivery and compliance standards. Working collaboratively with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams, you'll investigate supplier issues, conduct audits, support new product introductions and help build a resilient, high-performing supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • Support supplier approval, onboarding and development activities.
  • Investigate supplier quality issues using tools such as 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Conduct supplier audits and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, ISIR and new product introduction activities.
  • Analyse supplier performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Work closely with internal departments to minimise supplier risk and improve business performance.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • An HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Previous experience managing supplier quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, ISIR, FAIR and quality planning.
  • Experience carrying out supplier or internal audits.
  • A solid understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • The flexibility to travel to supplier sites when required.

Desirable Experience

  • Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent).
  • Experience with ERP, MRP or Quality Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and supplier risk management.
