Seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Payroll professional to join a growing team. This role is critical in delivering accurate and timely payroll services, ensuring all member payments are processed in line with regulatory requirements, scheme rules, and internal service standards. You will support the end-to-end payroll function across SIPP, SSAS and/or occupational pension schemes, with a strong focus on compliance, accuracy, and delivering positive member outcomes.
Duties:
- Payroll Processing
- Process regular and ad-hoc pension payrolls (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Calculate and process pension income payments, PAYE tax deductions, lump sums, drawdown payments, and death benefits
- Ensure all payments are authorised and released within agreed service levels
- Tax & Compliance
- Apply PAYE tax codes in line with HMRC requirements
- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) reports accurately and on time
- Process P45s, P60s, and year-end reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with pension legislation and internal controls
- Member & Adviser Support
- Respond to queries from members, IFAs, and third parties
- Provide clear explanations of payroll, tax, and payment calculations
- Support vulnerable customers in line with Consumer Duty expectations
- Perform payroll reconciliations between systems and bank accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Update tax codes, bank details, and payment instructions
The Ideal Candidate:
- Strong understanding of PAYE and pension taxation
- Knowledge of RTI submissions and HMRC requirements
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines
- Experience with pension administration platforms
- Understanding of drawdown and complex benefit payments
- Experience within a regulated financial services environment
- Previous pension payroll administration experience
Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm – Office-based, no hybrid
Salary £27,000-£28,000
