Seeking an experienced Legal Secretary & Personal Assistant to provide dedicated support to a Partner within a busy and fast-paced department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual with a strong legal background, ideally within Personal Injury, who thrives in a professional environment. You will play a key role in supporting the Partner and wider team, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
Duties:
- Preparing and managing correspondence, legal documents, and court papers
- Audio and copy typing to a high standard (approximately 50% of your role)
- Proactive client liaison, including handling queries, taking messages, and relaying information
- Maintaining and organising filing systems
- Preparing document indexes and bundles, including e-bundles (training provided)
- General administrative duties such as photocopying, scanning, and document collation
- Arranging appointments, meetings, and diary management
- Supporting with additional administrative tasks as required
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary (ideally within Personal Injury)
- Strong knowledge of Personal Injury processes and procedures
- Experience using legal software (ideally Proclaim)
- Excellent typing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality legal documentation
- Outstanding spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A flexible and adaptable approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A professional, confidential, and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic
