Logistics Controller in Ellesmere Port

Fantastic opportunity to join a global business as a Logistics Controller. This is a one year FTC starting ASAP!

Working as part of a professional and friendly logistics team you will ensure the safe and legal movement of products nationally and internationally.

Ensure the smooth movement of goods to customer, goods to site and warehouses in a timely manner.
Liaising with colleagues in customer service to ensure customers are kept updated.
Import and export procedures.
Raising appropriate customs documentation.
You will need an understanding of excise duty, VAT and movement of dangerous goods (bulk and packed).
Monitor, manage, audit and report freight costs and freight forwarder performance.
Raise POs for freight in ERP system.

We are keen to hear from candidates with the following:

A strong working knowledge of national and international movement of freight by road,sea,rail & air.
Knowledge of dangerous goods movement (ADR / IMDG / IATA).
Strong commercial acumen.
Knowledge of international trade – customs and excise requirements, export sales, export documentation, letter of credit trading.
Skilled in working under pressure, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Experience of AX or SAP would be a bonus. An intermediate level of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is also required.

This is a one year contract.
