As we continue to grow our international presence, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Art Sales Consultant to lead our strategic growth, deepen our collector network, and explore new revenue opportunities in the global art market.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Gallery Director, the Art Sales Consultant will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive growth strategy, identifying new business opportunities, and cultivating high-level relationships across the art, luxury, and corporate sectors. Please note this role is mainly phone based.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Revenue Generation: Develop and implement innovative strategies to expand the gallery's client base, including HNWIs, corporate collections, and international art buyers. Lead sales initiatives across exhibitions, art fairs, and digital platforms.
- Client Relationship Management: Oversee the cultivation and retention of high-value collectors and clients. Host and represent the gallery at openings, art fairs, and private viewings.
- Market Research & Analysis: Track market trends and identify emerging opportunities within the contemporary art space. Analyse sales data and generate reports to inform strategy and forecasting.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the curatorial and marketing teams to align business goals with exhibition programming and gallery branding. Mentor junior sales or business development staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in business development, sales, or client relations within the contemporary art world or luxury market.
- A strong existing network of collectors, art professionals, and/or corporate clients.
- Proven track record of generating and closing deals.
- Knowledge of the contemporary art market, both UK and international.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-driven, strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit.
