The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Your duties include supervision of all direct reports within the IPTC department, including line management through regular 1:1 meetings, periodic appraisals, managing employee relations by conducting Return to Work interviews/investigations, and arranging cover where necessary.
Approval of annual leave requests while ensuring sufficient resources to adhere to work schedules.
Reviewing and approving Study Protocols, Reports, SWIs, ATMs in a timely manner, in line with the IPTC document review procedure.
Day-to-day planning of workload and prioritising activities of direct reports in coordination with the laboratory manager.
Coordinating with the analytical team to maintain accurate records and providing peer review for others to ensure analytical results are recorded and reported accurately.
Overseeing and ensuring calibration, installation, and upgrade of analytical equipment and instruments.
Building and sharing expertise and knowledge of the testing of inhalation devices: Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs) and Dry Powder Inhalers (DPIs).
Assisting with troubleshooting related to analytical methods and instruments where required and ensuring that analytical equipment in the IPTC laboratory is maintained correctly.
Organising training and development of analysts in the team to adhere to a minimum level of analytical team versatility and flexibility.
Maintaining and improving the level of skills required to perform activities to the appropriate standards.
Performing the lab manager’s role and duties when they are unavailable and absent.
Your profile should include at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, with at least 5-6 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical or similar laboratory setting, and experience of testing inhalation devices.
Significant experience of analysis using HPLC, including a working knowledge of chromatography software, e.g. Chromeleon or Empower, is required. Experience of laboratory documentation software programmes (LIMS) and use of software for method development would be an added benefit.
