This Quality Engineer position will be a hybrid role with time split between home working and regular office days. Working as part of an Agile Scrum team, your key input will be to champion Preservica’s Quality Engineering culture & ethos, challenge & motivate your feature team to embrace the latest in exciting industry-standard techniques in QA and write and execute test cases for our automation framework in Playwright, increasing valuable coverage and assuring your stamp on quality for our releases.
Other tasks will include:
- Maintain and increase the existing test coverage (manual and automated).
- Write well-designed, maintainable tests following the established industry standard practices in Test Design & Functional Testing, creating and executing manual test cases where necessary.
- Attend all key Agile ceremonies to procure deep product knowledge to challenge your feature team in ensuring all sprint work meets the highest QA industry standards.
- Design, execute, and maintain test scripts, maintaining their efficacy, investigating all failures, and taking remedial action.
- Extend the automation capability to increase both product & regression test coverage.
- Stay up to date with trends in methodologies and techniques as appropriate to the role and share your knowledge with QA and closely aligned teams.
Essential skills:
- Degree in an engineering, software, or system-related field or equivalent training/experience.
- Familiar with Agile development practices, including Agile SCRUM.
- 5+ years of testing, design, and execution experience and skilled in automation.
- Strong test design skills alongside a can-do, pro-active attitude - able to meet tight deadlines, participate in Scrum ceremonies, and collaborate closely with team members.
- Be personable and utilise effective, strong communication skills; be assertive and confident to contribute to team meetings as well as present if required.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- API Testing and related tools such as Postman, Swagger, etc.
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and test automation tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Contribute to initiatives and assist the wider organisation in continuous improvement.
