This role asks for an engineer who has built and run several backend systems from scratch and can own large data infrastructure projects from design through deployment and monitoring. A strong candidate brings solid distributed systems knowledge such as replication, partitioning, caching and consistency, plus fluency in a high level language and a statically typed one.
