No words can describe how proud and delighted I am to be Head Girl of Presdales school. It is something I have always wanted and I can’t wait to work with the staff and students in order to help our school continue to be the best it can be.
I am currently studying English Language & Literature, Media and PE. I am not sure what pathway I want to take after A-levels, however I know that with the amazing support from the staff here at Presdales, I will have an exciting future ahead of me. I am so thankful for my teachers and tutors who have helped me become the girl I am today.
Throughout my time here, there have been so many options to take part in extracurricular activities which have helped me develop my character and boost my self-confidence, such as Duke of Edinburgh, school trips, sporting competitions and the large variety of clubs. I have always thrown myself into every opportunity that the school has given me including being Deputy Head of House, PE Prefect and Big Sister. I would encourage students to broaden their interests, push themselves out of their comfort zones and to not take anything that the school offers for granted. Students don’t realise that their time here will fly by and they should grasp every opportunity that the school offers them in order to build new skills and attributes which will be helpful in the future.
I am really looking forward to what the academic year ahead will bring. I can’t wait to come up with new ideas with an excellent team of senior students as well as cooperating with the lower years of the school to continue to build a strong and inclusive community.
Presdales has given me so much during my time here and I hope to give the school something back in my role as Head Girl. I have had the best experience throughout my time here and I hope to ensure that every student has a positive time at Presdales.
Bethany Botheras
Deputy Head Girl
I feel incredibly honoured to introduce myself as one of your Deputy Head Girls for the upcoming year. It means so much to have the opportunity to represent Presdales and support our fantastic senior student team.
I’m currently studying History, Business, and Media Studies at A-level – subjects I’m passionate about and thoroughly enjoy.
Presdales has played such a big part in shaping who I am today. Since joining in Year 7, the school has offered me countless opportunities that have helped build my confidence and grow my ability to work with others. One of the standout experiences for me has been the Young Enterprise programme in Year 12, where I worked with my peers to set up and run a business. It gave me a real insight into the world of business and taught me valuable organisational and teamwork skills. Other highlights include completing both my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards, mentoring younger students through the ‘Big Sister’ programme, and having the honour of representing the school at the School Netball Nationals – moments I’ll always be proud of.
Outside of my studies, I dedicate a lot of my time to netball, a sport I genuinely love. Being part of a team and training alongside my teammates each week is something I really value. It’s helped me develop strong teamwork and leadership skills. My involvement doesn’t stop at playing – I’ve also completed my INTO Officiating Award, which has deepened my understanding of the game and allowed me to take on a different kind of responsibility within the sport.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Presdales so far and am a massive advocate for the school. I am very excited to work with all year groups of the school and an incredible team of senior students and give back to a school that has already given me so much.
Deputy Head Girl
I am so proud to be given the position of Deputy Head Girl this year. I am very excited to be able to represent the school and give the students a voice to make it an even more positive place than it already is.
I am currently studying Chemistry, Biology and Geography and I hope to study Medicine at university after taking a gap year to travel. My passion for travelling developed at Presdales after having the opportunity to go on two World Challenge trips to both Iceland (2023) and Tanzania (2024). I believe that these opportunities have helped me to develop so many skills which will continue to help me throughout my life. My confidence has increased so much since going on these trips and it has further developed with other school opportunities which I have been encouraged to do, such as volunteering at Pinewood, along with taking on the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards.
In my opinion, the huge range of opportunities that are offered at Presdales is the best feature of the school and I would love to use my role as Deputy Head Girl to encourage students to grasp all of these fantastic opportunities. I am looking forward to working with the outstanding student team and the wonderful staff members to improve the school and I will endeavour to give all students a space to voice their opinions and ideas.
