We are recruiting for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join a growing organisation in the Isle of Wight / Southampton in a newly created post. The CFO will oversee and manage the company's financial operations at a strategic level, including accounting, finance, forecasting, and strategic planning. If you enjoy strategic planning and providing commercial advice at board level in a company aiming to grow significantly in the next 5 years, this could be an ideal position.
We are looking for an experienced CFO with a solid commercial background to lead on commercial matters and the management of this growing function. The role is a Board-level role, and the role holder will be notified as a Companies House Director following successful probation.
Key responsibilities:- Develop a strategic financial plan to support the commercial and growth plans
- Financial statements & planning
- Accountable for the preparation of the financial statements with the use of external auditors
- Ensuring their accuracy and reliability
- Compliance - ensuring compliance with laws and developing policies and compliance requirements
- Accountable for tax planning and compliance
- Financial risk management: Oversee budgets and analyse data for risks
- Implement a monitoring and early warning system
- Accountable for all financial reporting
- Accountable for developing and implementing the company's financial strategy
- Develop and implement the financial strategy aligned with the company's objectives
- The CFO will lead on commercial topics.
- You will be accountable for the following aspects of the entity's commercial operations:
- Accountable for commercial risk management
- Risk identification and ongoing management
- Risk mitigation and reduction
- Accountable for commercial negotiations
- Negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Previous experience in the financial management of medium-sized companies with a scale of (Apply online only) FTE and £50-100m turnover
- Expectation of a Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CIMA
- Fully conversant with International Financial Reporting Standard (IRFS)
- Fully conversant with UK Tax Law
- Familiarity with multi-national organisations is a benefit
- Familiarity with the defence sector is a benefit
- Committed team player with leadership experience
