– £31,824 per annum Hours: 37.5 hrs per week Responsible to: Project Manager MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB The Team Leader will help to ensure that a high level of care is maintained within the Supported living service in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, Domiciliary Care Regulations and Minimum Standards to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION Willowbrook is a Supported Living service currently offering support and care for 9 individuals with disabilities.

CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE Essential GCSE Maths and English AC or equivalent QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent in qualification) including 3 years experience of working in a supported living setting for people with a learning disability.

An understanding of the needs of people with a learning disability and their families 3 years experience of working in a supported living service SKILLS Essential The ability to plan, develop and implement programmes of care The ability to support and promote independent daily living skills Understanding and awareness of the aims and objectives of supported living services The ability to support and promote both physical and emotional health for meaningful and purposeful wellbeing The ability to plan and prioritise work schedules and maintain accurate records Be a team player and encourage a team ethic Sound and up to date knowledge of safeguarding and how to response to a safeguarding alert.

Awareness of the challenges faced by people with a learning disability and a positive attitude in helping people to overcome them.

An awareness of cultural needs and how to provide sensitive support.

Experience of ordering, administration and disposal of medication.

Ability to communicate at all levels A high standard of literacy and numeracy to be able to write reports and other correspondence.

To have a passion and be empathetic and skilled in working with adults with a learning disability.

Ability to problem solve, even when under pressure.

A high standard of IT literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Word; Excel; and PowerPoint.

The ability to drive and have a car available for work is essential.

Exceptions could be made for people with a disability.

Willing to learn and participate in further training SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES Essential Must be willing to behave in a manner which upholds the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Availability for flexible hours working, as hours will be worked to cover a 24 hour shift pattern and therefore could include evenings, weekends or waking nights.
