To contribute to the Christian ministry and mission of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland through the delivery of the duties outlined. To be an active member of the General Assembly's staff team, contributing to the effective administration of its functions and assisting in the development of strategies and plans for the delivery of its objectives in line with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Under the leadership of the Secretaries of the Council for Mission in Ireland and the Council for Global Mission, to assist with implementing decisions of the General Assembly relevant to the Councils and to carry forward their delegated responsibilities. Under the leadership of the Council for Mission in Ireland and the Council for Global Mission, to forge and develop missional partnerships, oversee grant-making functions of the Councils, and support the Councils as needed.

Applicants must have:

  • A third-level qualification.
  • Evidence of personal Christian faith in practice and expression, usually demonstrated by active membership of a Christian congregation.
  • Knowledge of current thinking and practice in Christian mission in Ireland (North and South) and globally, including the work of denominations and para-church agencies collaborating with the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
  • Leadership experience within a Christian congregation or organization.

The successful candidate must be a Christian as defined under the Fair Employment Treatment (NI) regulations.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, typically over 3 days.
