Location: Trinity House, 15 Kilrea Road, Garvagh

Salary Scale:

  • £12.40 per hour (no NVQ)
  • £12.46 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • £12.50 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care

Hours: Full and part time hours available (days & nights)

Responsible to: The Home Manager

MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB

To provide care and support for residents within the Christian ethos and aims of Trinity House.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Trinity House is one of 6 homes for older people run by the Council for Social Witness (Older People Services) and is situated at 15 Kilrea Road, Garvagh. The Home accommodates 50 residents who have a variety of physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs and varying levels of dependency, including a 16 bed Unit for those with a diagnosis of dementia. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy.

CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential:

  • Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people;
  • Willing to undertake relevant training e.g. induction training, or NVQ / QCF level 2
  • Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by the duties of the post
  • Basic numeracy required by the duties of the post (as endorsed by appropriate qualification or use of numeracy skills in a work or home environment).

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential:

  • Willing to work additional hours to fulfil the requirements of the Home
  • Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
  • Willing to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council
