Salary Scale:
- £12.40 per hour (no NVQ)
- £12.46 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care
- £12.50 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care
Hours:
- Post 1: 37 hours (days)
- Post 2: 12.33 hours (nights)
Responsible to: Home Manager
Main function: To be responsible, through management and staff leadership, for promoting and ensuring the highest standards of care, in compliance with statutory requirements to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents with the Christian ethos of Lawnfield House.
Background information: Lawnfield House is registered with the RQIA to provide residential respite care for up to 20 residents who have a learning disability; physical disability; sensory impairment or are older persons. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy.
CRITERIA
Qualifications and Knowledge Essential:
- Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people or those with learning and physical disabilities
- Aware of Health and Safety practices within a working environment
- Willing to undertake relevant training e.g. induction training, or NVQ/QCF level 2
- Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by duties of the post
Special Circumstances Essential:
- Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
- Must be available for flexible working, including on call at night and weekends as required
- Willingness to maintain registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body
- Must be willing to adhere to NISCC Codes of Practice or N.M.C.
- Satisfactory Access NI check
- Registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council within 6 months of appointment is a requirement of this position.
