Location: Aaron House, 40 Rosneath Gardens, Ballyoran, Dundonald

Hours: 36.5 hours days per week, 33 hours and 21 hours nights per week

Salary: £12.60 - £12.70 per hour

Responsible to: Service Manager

Role: The Care Assistant will carry out a high standard of care and assist to meet residents' individual needs within a caring environment.

Background information: Aaron House is a Residential Care Home for 16 individuals with profound learning disabilities. Attached to the Home there is a Day Care Facility for up to 9 individuals. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of people with learning and physical disabilities
  • Awareness of health and safety practices within a working environment
  • Willing to undertake relevant training e.g. induction training, or NVQ / QCF level 2
  • Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by the duties of the post
  • Basic numeracy required by the duties of the post (as endorsed by appropriate qualification or use of numeracy skills in a work or home environment)

Special Circumstances

  • Willing to work additional hours to fulfil the requirements of the Home
  • Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
  • Willing to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council
