You’ll be central to keeping our production areas spotless — ensuring every machine and workspace meets rigorous hygiene requirements. Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll take pride in keeping our environment clean, safe, and ready for action every day.
Main Duties
- Ensure PPE dispensers are fully stocked and all hygiene equipment is available for use.
- Carry out thorough cleaning and sanitation of production lines, machinery, belts, and processing equipment to the required standards.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly, ensuring correct usage to prevent any health risks to yourself or colleagues.
- Maintain high-quality cleaning standards in line with customer specifications and company expectations.
- Complete daily hygiene control sheets accurately and ensure any corrective actions are taken within agreed timescales.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and hygiene, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
- Use water efficiently and ensure chemicals are applied at the correct concentration at all times.
- Ensure all cleaning tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment are functioning properly; report any damage immediately.
- Report incidents, hazards, or environmental concerns to the Team Leader or Section Leader.
- Carry out tasks involving manual handling and work safely in cold storage environments on a daily basis.
Specific Knowledge & Experience
- Previous experience in hygiene, cleaning, or sanitation environments is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Ideally, 1 year of experience in cleaning and sanitation within a food production or factory environment (preferred, not required).
- Basic understanding of hygiene, food safety, and health & safety standards is beneficial.
- Ability to follow procedures, use cleaning chemicals safely, and maintain high cleaning standards.

Salary
- Level 1: £12.41 per hour
- Level 2: £12.77 per hour
- Level 3: £13.39 per hour
- Progression through levels is based on skills, performance, and experience.
Working Shifts
- 12‑hour day shifts, including breaks
- Shift time: 06:00 - 18:00
- Working pattern options: Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday
