As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll operate beyond a single problem space, shaping direction across complex areas of the product and raising the bar for design quality through both your work and your influence on others.
What you’ll be doing:
- Shape high-impact product experiences that help learners and tutors connect, engage, and succeed over time, influencing direction across complex areas of the product.
- Co-create product strategy and experience direction in close partnership with Product, Engineering, and leadership, influencing priorities across interconnected initiatives.
- Own design end-to-end across multi-threaded work, connecting long-term vision with high-quality execution.
- Drive exploration, prototyping, and experimentation, pushing beyond existing patterns to meaningfully improve usability, effectiveness, and value.
- Contribute to shared patterns and the design system, helping ensure consistency and coherence across the product.
- Mentor and coach other designers through feedback, pairing, and critique, raising the bar through collaboration and example.
- Engage actively in cross-functional discussions and workshops, helping teams navigate ambiguity and move toward clarity.
What you need to succeed:
- Proven experience operating at a Staff Product Designer level, with ownership over broad, high-impact product areas.
- A strong track record of co-creating product direction in close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and leadership.
- Exceptional craft and product judgment, demonstrated through shipped work with clear impact.
- Deep user empathy, with experience synthesizing research, data, and insight into confident design decisions.
- Experience designing, building, or scaling AI-driven product features in user-facing products is a big plus.
- Experience mentoring and coaching other designers, both informally and through regular feedback and critique.
