Meet the team! The Data team drives Preply to make the best decisions for our business, learners and tutors, by building a data‑driven organization and the best data products. We leverage a mature data‑ecosystem, built with state‑of‑the‑art technologies. As Data Managers, we are deeply involved in people, business, products, marketing, and technologies. In partnership with product managers, we look for business opportunities and lead with technical excellence to bring the company to the next level. All Product Growth Analytics team members embedded in cross‑functional product squads will report to this position.
What you’ll be doing:
- Shape the strategy of Preply’s Product Growth end‑to‑end: from attracting new users efficiently, creating confident matches, guiding learning commitment, expanding value, geo & subject expansion, and taking full advantage of our referral and shareable mechanisms.
- Define a long‑term vision for Product Growth Analytics and set them up for success. Keep them motivated by fostering an environment where ambitious goals lead to meaningful wins.
- Develop a deep understanding of tutor–learner dynamics across the full user journey, and translate this into actionable insights and product opportunities.
- Champion high‑impact, cross‑functional analytics initiatives that elevate how we use data to understand users and drive the business.
- Promote data literacy and scalable self‑service analytics across the organization.
- Establish robust measurement frameworks to accurately assess product impact and enable effective prioritization of the product roadmap.
- Partner closely with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to define and scale best practices, tooling, and data foundations (tracking, modeling, experimentation).
- Lead the definition of tracking standards, engagement metrics, and KPIs to ensure consistency, reliability, and alignment with business goals.
What you need to succeed:
- 3+ years of leadership experience across Analytics and/or Data Science teams, with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop both managers and senior individual contributors, complemented by 4+ years of hands‑on Senior IC experience.
- Proven ability to operate at a strategic level: setting direction, prioritizing high‑impact work, and aligning analytics initiatives with company‑wide objectives.
- Strong track record of raising the bar on technical quality, instilling accountability, and building a culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Deep experience with experimentation (A/B testing), including platform design, tracking strategy, and rigorous evaluation methodologies.
- Hands‑on expertise in advanced analytics (e.g., causal inference, predictive modeling, attribution), with strong command of SQL and Python/R, and familiarity with modern data stacks (e.g., Amplitude, Looker, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Demonstrated ability to lead change at scale: embedding experimentation and data‑driven decision‑making into product and business processes.
- Lead the adoption of AI across the data function by setting standards, building reusable systems, and embedding strong validation and governance practices, ensuring teams scale faster without compromising data quality, reliability, or decision‑making integrity.
- Strong business acumen: able to connect analytics work to ROI, anticipate downstream impact, and influence decisions at senior stakeholder levels.
- Genuine curiosity about user behavior and business performance, with a proactive mindset toward generating, testing, and iterating on new ideas.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in Marketplaces and/or digital businesses (B2B, B2C, B2B2C).
- Previous experience in a subscription based business or in a product growth team.
