Our Client is Recruiting for a Regional Surveyor
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regional Surveyor to join a well-established housing organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Responsible for a portfolio of approximately 260 residential properties across Wales and Southern England, you will play a key role in delivering responsive repairs, planned maintenance programmes, property inspections, compliance works and investment projects.
The role combines technical surveying expertise with contractor management, resident liaison and asset management responsibilities.
This position is home-based following training, with regular travel throughout the region and attendance at London offices approximately twice per month (all travel expenses paid).
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake stock condition surveys and property inspections.
- Diagnose building defects and specify remedial works.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications and schedules of works.
- Manage reactive repairs, planned maintenance and capital investment projects.
- Oversee contractor performance, quality, costs and programme delivery.
- Conduct post-inspections and sign off completed works.
- Support property acquisitions, disposals and void property assessments.
- Provide technical guidance on building safety, damp and mould, compliance and housing standards.
- Deliver property adaptations to support residents' needs.
- Maintain accurate property and asset data.
- Build strong relationships with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
Applications will only be considered from candidates who hold one of the following professional qualifications:
- MRICS / FRICS / Assoc RICS / MCIOB / ACIOB
In addition, applicants must have
- A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience managing repairs, maintenance and planned works programmes.
- Strong contractor management experience.
- Sound knowledge of Building Regulations, building safety legislation and housing compliance requirements.
- Experience producing detailed technical reports and specifications.
- The ability to work independently across a large geographical area.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
