Prentis Solutions is looking for two enthusiastic Recruitment Apprentices to join our team and begin their careers in the recruitment industry. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone at the beginning of their professional career who wants to gain recognised qualifications while developing practical, real-world experience in a busy recruitment consultancy. No previous recruitment experience is required. We are much more interested in your attitude, communication skills, confidence and willingness to learn.
You will work alongside experienced Recruitment Consultants and learn the full recruitment process – from finding and speaking to candidates through to arranging interviews, making placements and developing relationships with clients. At the same time, you will complete a structured Recruiter Level 3 Apprenticeship, combining professional training with practical, on-the-job experience.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Search for candidates using CV databases, job boards, LinkedIn and other recruitment channels, review CVs and match suitable candidates to vacancies.
- Speak to candidates by telephone and email, screen and register applicants, discuss their experience and career plans, and build professional relationships.
- Write and post job advertisements, shortlist candidates, arrange interviews, prepare candidates for interviews and obtain feedback.
- Support successful candidates through onboarding, pre-employment and compliance checks while maintaining accurate records on our recruitment database.
- Research the recruitment market, identify potential candidates and business opportunities, and learn how to understand and respond to client recruitment requirements.
- Gradually take greater responsibility for vacancies and client relationships as your knowledge, experience and confidence develop.
You will be supported throughout by experienced members of the Prentis team and given increasing responsibility as you progress.
Your Apprenticeship & Qualifications
This role is linked to the successful completion of the Recruiter Level 3 Apprenticeship, and applicants must meet the relevant eligibility requirements for apprenticeship funding and enrolment. Successful completion of the programme will result in three Level 3 achievements:
- Recruiter Level 3 Apprenticeship
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Recruitment (RQF)
- Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Recruitment (RQF)
Your professional training will cover candidate sourcing and selection, interviewing, recruitment administration, employment law, ethical recruitment, sales and business development, client relationship management, market analysis, recruitment charging rates, profitability and advanced interviewing techniques. You will receive paid time during your normal working hours to complete required apprenticeship training and study.
Who Are We Looking For?
This opportunity would particularly suit someone who has recently completed school, college or other education and is looking to take their first steps into a professional career, although applications are welcomed from anyone who meets the relevant apprenticeship eligibility requirements. You do not need previous recruitment experience.
- Confident, friendly and comfortable speaking to people on the telephone
- A good verbal and written communicator
- Organised, reliable and comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Proactive, resilient and willing to take initiative
- Interested in people, business and developing commercial skills
- Keen to learn, develop and build a long-term professional career
Recruitment is a people-focused and fast-moving industry, so you should enjoy communicating with different people and be comfortable picking up the phone and starting conversations.
About Prentis Solutions
Prentis Solutions is an established recruitment consultancy specialising in recruitment within the housing and public sector. As a Recruitment Apprentice, you will work directly alongside experienced recruitment professionals and gain genuine hands-on experience from the beginning. You will learn how a recruitment agency operates commercially, how we build long-term relationships with candidates and clients, and how successful recruiters develop their own networks and manage vacancies from start to finish.
Training, Support & Career Progression
We see this apprenticeship as the start of a career in recruitment, rather than simply a training placement. During the early stages, the focus will be on developing your communication skills, learning good recruitment practices, understanding our systems and building your confidence when dealing with candidates. As your knowledge and experience develop, you will become increasingly involved in managing vacancies, arranging interviews, making placements and developing relationships with candidates and clients.
Subject to successfully completing your apprenticeship, satisfactory performance and the needs of the business, there may be an opportunity to progress into a Recruitment Consultant or similar position with Prentis Solutions.
If you are starting out in your career, enjoy working with people and want an opportunity where you can earn, learn and gain recognised professional qualifications at the same time, we would love to hear from you.
