You will play a key role in providing targeted academic, pastoral and intervention support for pupils with identified SEN needs, which include Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Emotional and mental Health (SEMH) and ADHD. The successful candidate will have:
- Met higher level teaching assistant standards, or have an equivalent qualification or experience;
- Experience of working with children aged 11 - 16 years in a learning environment;
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (equivalent to NVQ level 2) and the ability to use ICT effectively to advance pupils' learning;
- A good understanding of child development, learning processes and statutory frameworks relating to teaching;
- The ability to relate well to children and adults, building successful relationships with respect and consideration;
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, raising educational achievement and challenging stereotyped views;
- The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
Prendergast Ladywell School is part of the Leathersellers' Federation of Schools; we believe that all our students can achieve excellence and that they deserve the very best teachers and resources to reach their potential. Our caring environment values achievement and we insist on tolerance and mutual respect. You will have the opportunity to work with a forward thinking school leadership team.
