We are seeking a motivated individual to join our growing team in our Rackheath Distribution Centre.
The Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the shift warehousing activities, be responsible for the production, productivity, quality and customer service standards, and lead by example to drive the operations team daily.
This position will be working a shift pattern Monday to Friday 19.30pm - 06.00am
Job Purpose / Overview
The warehouse supervisor will oversee and coordinate the evening shift warehousing activities. They will be responsible for the production, productivity, quality and customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. Ultimately, the warehouse supervisor should be able to ensure that operations meet and exceed performance expectations. Responsible for shift staff and working closely with the warehouse manager and department managers, the warehouse supervisor will be a role model with a real passion for delivering results and motivating the team to excel.
The warehouse supervisor will report to the warehouse manager and will work closely with all other functions within the business ensuring close collaboration and delivery of business objectives and KPI’s.
Maintain warehouse / stockrooms to be tidy and functional at all times by conducting floor walks/ audits to identify issues.
The ability to give clear instruction and direction is key to this role.
The job holder will need to ensure that all relevant parties are kept up to date with all developments and information flows efficiently to the right people at the right time.
As the most senior person on site at times, the warehouse supervisor is the primary person, accountable for first line incident management through their responsibility as site custodian and warehouse emergency leader.
The warehouse supervisor will need to have the ability to manage themselves and situations within the busy warehouse environment, with a strong ability to prioritize and adapt to changing needs on a day-to-day basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for warehouse evening staff, ensuring they are cross trained wherever possible
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and staff performance.
- Communicate job expectations and coach staff.
- Determine staffing levels and assign workload.
- Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy for both goods in and dispatch.
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices in collaboration with the warehouse manager.
- Comply with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and regulation.
- Continually seek improvement in every aspect of the position and warehouse functions.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Flexi/Bendi FLT Licence is desirable
- Angling Experience / knowledge desirable
- Ability to lead a team
- Ability to multi-task
- Previous experience in a warehouse essential
