Surveyor - Valuations-This role is full time, permanent with hybrid working based in the West End,London.
Role Purpose The Surveyor role will undertake valuations and reporting with key responsibility for valuation report writing. On more complex assignments, they will work with oversight and support from senior colleagues. They will also collaborate with other members to ensure high quality valuations are delivered to clients and drive operational efficiency.

This role will work primarily within the Valuation Team, a new division focusing on small to mid-sized loan security valuations of both commercial and residential assets. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct valuation and advisory work, alongside senior members of the team , for loan security purposes.
• Conduct physical property inspections and assist senior valuers with more complex inspections.
• Collaborate with other members of the Valuation team on the valuation process and undertake quality control of their work.
• Manage opportunity records up to execution
• Conduct technical aspects of property due diligence and review changes to valuation data (Regular only)
• Select appropriate comparables, performing analysis, and drawing conclusions.
• Perform valuation modelling (including DCF modelling), calculations and analysis and support for senior valuers on more complex valuations.
• Close liaison with clients ensuring high quality advice is consistently delivered.
• Preparation of reports.
• Help with revenue recognition and provide necessary paperwork.
• Support senior members of the team with business development, RFPs and pitch activities.
• Complete 'activate' set up in TOPS2.
• QRM compliance.
• Gather and share relevant market intelligence and support senior members of the team with other value-add tasks.
• Support with training and mentoring more junior members of the team to develop management skills.
• Work flexibly across sectors and services within the Division and support other Divisions as and when required.

Person Specification/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Real Estate, Surveying, or a related field.
• MRICS qualified or equivalent, with relevant experience
• Knowledge of property valuation methodologies and techniques
• Proficiency in using valuation software and tools, such as Argus Enterprise & Developer and Excel
• Proficiency in reporting and data analytical tools to drive operational efficiency and reduce potential data transposition errors.
• Good understanding of property market trends and factors influencing property values
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in property valuation
• Willingness to learn and develop professional skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and support senior valuers, but also able to operate autonomously in an efficient and productive manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise tasks, delegate where appropriate and meet deadlines

What will it take to be successful?

You will be an experienced chartered surveyor and registered valuer, with a strong knowledge of valuations across commercial assets. Travel will be required in this role, and a driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

Valuation & Technical Delivery

• Undertake commercial valuation instructions accurately, efficiently, and in line with RICS standards.
• Prepare clear, well‑structured valuation reports with limited supervision.
• Ensure all valuations are supported by robust market evidence, research, and analysis.
• Maintain orderly and accurate file records, including digital records, in accordance with internal procedures.
• Fully understand and utilise office technology, valuation software, and internal systems.
• Conduct site inspections, analyse market data, and apply appropriate valuation methodologies.

Market Knowledge & Research

• Build and maintain a strong understanding of GCC property markets, including relevant legislation, valuation standards, and best practice.

• Liaise with the research and strategic consultancy teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
