A rapidly growing specialist contractor delivering fire safety remediation and building safety projects across the UK is looking to appoint one or two Technical Managers to join their expanding team. Following significant contract awards with major residential developers, the business has built a strong pipeline of work delivering remediation programmes across projects ranging from £1m – £40m. Operating as a Principal Contractor, they manage the technical delivery of complex remediation schemes including façade replacement, fire protection works and internal fire safety upgrades.
Working within the pre-construction team, the Technical Manager will coordinate the technical design process across multiple remediation projects. You will act as the key link between consultants, designers and delivery teams to ensure compliant and coordinated solutions across building safety projects.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Coordinating external consultants including Fire Engineers, Structural Engineers and Designers
- Managing the technical design process on remediation and cladding projects
- Ensuring compliance with current building safety and fire regulations
- Reviewing drawings and technical submissions from consultants
- Supporting pre-construction and delivery teams with technical input
- Liaising with site teams during the project lifecycle
This role would suit someone with a background in Design Management or Technical Coordination within construction.
Requirements:
- Experience in a Technical Manager / Design Manager / Technical Coordinator type role
- Construction background (remediation, façade, residential or refurbishment experience beneficial)
- Strong ability to coordinate consultants and technical information
- Good understanding of design and regulatory processes within construction
