A leading international contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Manager to support the delivery of two major building projects across London and Cambridge. This is a key role within a large, technically complex project environment where the business is delivering a highly coordinated MEP-led strategy with a strong focus on design integration, digital engineering, and quality assurance across all building services systems.

The role sits within a preconstruction and delivery-focused technical team, supporting the full project lifecycle from early design development through to commissioning and handover.

The Role

You will work closely with Senior Technical and Design Managers to support the development, coordination, and delivery of MEP design information across all project stages. A key focus of the role is ensuring technical compliance, design coordination, and effective integration between consultants, BIM teams, and specialist subcontractors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of MEP design and technical information from preconstruction through to completion
  • Managing coordination between MEP consultants, BIM teams and specialist designers
  • Reviewing and validating technical design information to ensure compliance and buildability
  • Supporting procurement and technical appointment of MEP design partners and specialists
  • Managing design risk, technical interfaces and coordination issues
  • Supporting value engineering and value management activities
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and CDM 2015
  • Monitoring design progress across multiple workstreams and project stages
  • Supporting installation verification and technical troubleshooting during delivery
  • Promoting a strong ‘design for safety’ and quality-led approach across all design activities

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction or engineering-related discipline
  • Strong background in MEP design, technical management or building services delivery
  • Experience within a main contractor, MEP contractor or consultancy environment
  • Strong understanding of RIBA stages and/or BSRIA BG6
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM 2015 and Building Safety Act requirements
  • Strong technical understanding of MEP systems, materials and installation methods
  • Experience in design coordination, technical risk management and value engineering
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working within BIM-led project environments desirable
