A privately owned and financially stable main contractor with a turnover exceeding £150m is seeking to appoint two experienced Design Managers for upcoming residential projects in Central London.
The company delivers high quality schemes across residential, commercial, mixed-use and hotel sectors, typically valued between £10m and £70m. Known for their steady growth and forward thinking approach, they also operate development and investment arms within the wider group.
Due to recent project wins, the business is looking to appoint two Design Managers to join their construction team:
- Project 1 – Super Prime Private Residence: A £30m+ ultra high end residential fit out project. This role will involve managing complex design packages and delivering exceptional finishes, working with artisan subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
- Project 2 – Residential Conversion: A £30m+ scheme involving the conversion of a commercial building into 60 mid-specification apartments. The project is currently at PCSA stage and will require coordination of structural alterations, services design, and planning constraints.
Both roles report to the Head of Design and relevant Contracts Director. You’ll work closely with the commercial and site teams to manage the design process from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring smooth information flow and collaboration with consultants and subcontractors.
The Candidate
- Experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor.
- For Project 1: Background in prime or super prime residential fit-outs is preferred.
- For Project 2: Experience on multi-unit residential schemes or commercial-to-residential conversions is preferred.
- Strong design coordination skills and a collaborative mindset.
- A stable and progressive career history is strongly preferred.
