About the
Role: An established specialist subcontractor is looking for a Contracts Supervisor / Junior Contracts Manager to join their team, overseeing projects across the Portsmouth and wider Hampshire area.
The company has over 30 years’ experience within the construction industry and specialises in drylining, metal stud partitions, suspended ceilings, insulation, external render and floor screeding.
They work with a range of established housebuilders and construction clients across the South Coast.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in drylining, interiors or another specialist subcontracting environment, who is looking to take responsibility for multiple projects and develop their career within contracts management.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising multiple projects from commencement through to completion.
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, labour and materials.
- Liaising with main contractors, site teams and clients to ensure projects remain on programme.
- Monitoring progress, quality and health & safety across projects.
- Attending site meetings and providing regular project updates.
- Working closely with the commercial and surveying teams.
- Ensuring works are delivered to the required specification and programme.
- Identifying and resolving site issues quickly and effectively.
- Assisting with project costs, variations and commercial matters.
- Ensuring adequate labour and resources are available to meet programme requirements.
- Supporting the Contracts Manager / senior management team where required.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and ensuring a high level of customer service.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience working within drylining, partitions, ceilings, plastering, rendering, screeding or another specialist construction subcontractor.
You may currently be working as a Site Manager, Contracts Supervisor, Assistant Contracts Manager, Project Manager or experienced Site Supervisor and be looking for the next step in your career.
You will need
- Experience managing or supervising construction projects.
- Good knowledge of specialist subcontracting / internal finishes.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience dealing with main contractors and site teams.
- A good understanding of health & safety and construction programmes.
- A practical, hands-on approach to project management.
- Full UK driving licence.
Experience within drylining or residential construction would be particularly advantageous.
