The Company: A long-established, family-run stonemasonry contractor with a heritage dating back to the 19th century, specialising in stone restoration, conservation and new build masonry works across the South East. Projects range from listed buildings and heritage sites to high-end residential and bespoke stonework.
The Role: An experienced Site Manager is required to oversee masonry and restoration projects from inception through to completion. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day site operations across multiple masonry and restoration projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, stonemasons and site labour
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with health & safety regulations
- Monitor programme, progress and quality of works on site
- Liaise with clients, architects, conservation officers and senior management
- Order materials and manage site logistics
- Conduct site meetings and provide regular progress reports
- Maintain high standards of traditional workmanship and attention to detail
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction (ideally stonemasonry, restoration or heritage projects)
- Strong knowledge of traditional building methods and materials
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold card preferred) and First Aid
- Ability to read drawings and manage programmes effectively
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Background in heritage, conservation, or listed building works
- Experience managing high-end residential or bespoke stone projects
- Trade background in masonry or similar
