An established and highly respected design and build contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Managing Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects from pre‑construction through to final account, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commercial delivery of multiple construction projects.
  • Prepare cost plans, budgets and valuations.
  • Manage subcontract procurement and negotiate packages.
  • Administer subcontract accounts, variations and final accounts.
  • Produce accurate cost reporting and forecasts.
  • Manage client valuations and applications for payment.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Work closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
  • Provide commercial guidance and mentoring to junior surveyors where required.
  • Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Surveyor.
  • Background within commercial construction, refurbishment, fit‑out or design & build projects.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and commercial software.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
