An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to join an established £100m+ turnover main contractor with a diverse portfolio of construction projects across residential, commercial and public sector markets.
The company delivers projects ranging from super prime residential and high end hotels, through to mid market residential and public sector schemes, providing an opportunity to work across a varied and interesting project portfolio.
The role will be focused on the commercial management of a circa £10m new build mixed use apartment scheme in London. The successful candidate will be based from the company's North West London headquarters, with regular visits to the project and close involvement with the wider project team.
This would suit an experienced Project QS or Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contracting or developer background.
As Project Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, site team, client, consultants and subcontractors:
- Taking responsibility for the commercial management of the project from pre-construction through to completion.
- Managing project costs, budgets and financial reporting.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments and variations.
- Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team to ensure commercial and operational objectives are aligned.
- Managing subcontractor and supplier relationships throughout the project.
- Assisting with the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
- Providing commercial advice and reporting to senior management.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or developer is required, along with:
- Experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects through to completion.
- Experience within residential, apartment, mixed-use, commercial or public sector construction would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Good commercial awareness and an ability to identify and manage project risks.
- The ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients.
- A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline would be advantageous.
