A leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Lead Planner / Planning Manager to support the delivery of a major healthcare development in Jersey. This is a rare opportunity to join a flagship project delivering a new acute hospital valued at circa £700m. The scheme comprises a major multi-building healthcare campus incorporating emergency care, operating theatres, critical care facilities, and specialist women’s and children’s services.

The Role
You will take ownership of planning activities across multiple programmes, supporting both preconstruction and live delivery phases. This includes managing planning resources, maintaining programme integrity across concurrent workstreams, and ensuring effective planning support is provided to operational teams. You will also play a key leadership role within the planning function, supporting and mentoring junior planners where required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and coordinating multiple complex project programmes across preconstruction and delivery
- Leading planning input into bid, preconstruction and delivery stages
- Supporting project teams to achieve key programme milestones on a large-scale healthcare scheme
- Developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes using P6 or equivalent
- Managing planning resource across multiple live workstreams
- Leading programme reviews, coordination meetings and planning workshops
- Undertaking critical path analysis, progress tracking and risk mitigation
- Supporting planning strategy across design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the planning team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Planner or Planning Manager on major scale building projects
- Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contract environments
- Experience on large scale healthcare, commercial, mixed-use or complex building schemes
- Strong technical understanding of sequencing across all major construction packages (structure, façade, MEP and commissioning)
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential, MS Project and Asta Powerproject are additionally beneficial
- Experience mentoring or coordinating junior planners desirable
