Due to continued growth, my client is looking to appoint a Compliance Manager to take ownership of and further develop the company's compliance, environmental, health & safety and management systems.
Having grown from a £6m turnover business to £10m turnover in recent years, they are now seeking an experienced compliance professional who can help take the business to the next stage.
This is a genuine opportunity to join a growing organisation, influence company-wide processes and play a key role in shaping future standards and best practice.
Whilst experience within the façade industry would be advantageous, candidates from a wider construction, specialist subcontractor or main contractor background will also be considered.
The Role
This position will suit a knowledgeable and proactive Compliance Manager who can take ownership of existing systems and identify opportunities for further improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team, managing and developing the company's compliance framework, accreditations, environmental systems and health & safety processes.
The business already has management systems in place but is looking for someone with the technical knowledge and practical experience to refine, strengthen and streamline them as the company continues to grow.
The role is predominantly office based in London, although there will be regular site visits to become embedded within the business, carry out audits, assess compliance standards and support operational teams with implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the company's compliance, environmental, quality and health & safety management systems.
- Manage and oversee ISO accreditations, audits and certification processes.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- Support the rollout and maintenance of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits.
- Review and improve company policies, procedures and documentation.
- Maintain risk registers and compliance records.
- Identify gaps within current systems and implement improvements.
- Provide guidance and support on environmental and H&S compliance matters.
- Assist project teams with site-based documentation, risk assessments and compliance requirements.
- Monitor legislative and industry changes and ensure business compliance.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within a construction Compliance Manager, HSEQ Manager, QHSE Manager, Environmental Manager or similar role.
- Strong construction environmental management experience is essential.
- Working knowledge and practical experience of ISO 14001 implementation and management.
- Experience managing compliance systems, audits and accreditations.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and management systems.
- Experience preparing, reviewing and implementing policies, procedures and risk registers.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the function.
Qualifications
Ideally candidates will hold one or more of the following
- Relevant Health & Safety, Environmental or Compliance certifications.
