Banker Mason / Stonemason Location: Oxfordshire Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role: An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Banker Mason / Stonemason to join a well-established and highly respected specialist stonemasonry business based in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will join a skilled workshop team producing high-quality natural stonework for a range of prestigious architectural, heritage, interior and structural projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served mason who takes pride in traditional craftsmanship, attention to detail and producing work to an exceptionally high standard. The Role: As a Banker Mason / Stonemason, you will be responsible for working with natural stone within a specialist workshop environment, producing and finishing bespoke masonry components to detailed drawings and specifications. Your responsibilities will include: * Cutting, shaping and finishing natural stone by hand. * Producing bespoke architectural and structural stonework to precise specifications. * Working from detailed drawings, templates and specifications. * Hand-finishing stone following initial CNC and machine processes. * Producing detailed and intricate masonry, including mouldings, arches, columns, staircases and other architectural features. * Working with a variety of natural stones. * Maintaining excellent standards of accuracy, finish and craftsmanship. * Working alongside a skilled team of masons and other workshop specialists. * Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. About You: The ideal candidate will be an experienced Banker Mason, Stonemason or Stone Carver with a strong understanding of traditional masonry techniques and a genuine passion for working with natural stone. You will ideally have: * Previous experience as a Banker Mason or in a similar stonemasonry workshop role. * Strong hand-carving and stone-finishing skills. * Experience working with natural stone. * The ability to read and interpret technical drawings. * Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. * A strong understanding of traditional stonemasonry techniques. * A commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. * The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
