Senior Interior Designer – Hotels & Restaurants Location: Ongar, Essex Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 DOE Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent The Opportunity An established and friendly interior design studio is looking to recruit two Senior Interior Designers to join its close-knit team in Ongar, Essex. Specialising in hospitality interiors, the studio delivers interior and technical design projects for recognised hotel brands and restaurant chains across the UK. With one position focused on hotels and the other on restaurants, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced designers to take ownership of projects from initial concept through to completion, working alongside a collaborative team with support from directors and associates. The Role As a Senior Interior Designer, you will take responsibility for delivering projects from start to finish, balancing creative design with the technical and practical requirements of each scheme. Responsibilities will include: * Leading hospitality interior design projects from concept through to completion. * Producing detailed design packages and technical drawings using AutoCAD. * Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants and site teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully. * Developing design concepts and contributing to the overall creative direction of projects. * Coordinating technical design, planning, building regulations and product specifications where required. * Undertaking site visits to monitor progress and ensure designs are implemented correctly. * Managing project administration, with opportunities to become involved in contract administration and project management. * Taking ownership of programmes, deadlines and client requirements while working collaboratively with the wider design team. About You: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality interior design, with experience delivering hotel and/or restaurant projects and the confidence to manage schemes independently. You will ideally have: * Around 4–5 years' relevant interior design experience, with substantial project responsibility. * Proven experience within hotel and/or restaurant interior design. * Experience taking projects from concept through to completion, rather than focusing solely on design production. * Strong AutoCAD skills and confidence producing technical drawings. * Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. * Experience liaising with clients, contractors and site teams. * A proactive approach, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. * A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across England, Wales and Scotland. Candidates with purely residential or office interior design backgrounds are unlikely to be suitable for this position. Direct hospitality experience is essential, particularly for those applying at Senior Designer level. What's on Offer? * Salary of £45,000 – £50,000, depending on experience. * 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays. * Pension and standard employment benefits. * The opportunity to take ownership of projects and work with established hotel and restaurant brands. * A friendly, settled and collaborative studio environment. * A supportive team structure with access to experienced directors and associates. * A relaxed office culture, including a weekly team bake-off. Working Arrangements * Location: Ongar, Essex. * Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm, with a one-hour lunch break. * Working pattern: Fully office-based, five days per week. * Travel: Regular site visits across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
