My client is a well-established contractor based in Suffolk, specialising in groundworks, civil engineering and infrastructure projects. They work in partnership with a number of leading housebuilders and provide support across a range of industries throughout East Anglia and the South East of England.

They are seeking an Assistant Estimator to support the commercial team in preparing competitive tenders for groundwork and civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a long-term career within estimating and construction commercial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with tender preparation and cost estimates
  • Measuring quantities from drawings and specifications
  • Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Supporting pricing for groundworks, drainage and infrastructure works
  • Maintaining estimating records and databases
  • Liaising with suppliers, clients and internal teams
  • Supporting timely tender submissions
Requirements
  • Strong numerical and organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable
  • Knowledge of estimating software and construction drawings
  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
