We are seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team at a leading groundworks contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high quality infrastructure for national housebuilders across East Anglia and the South East. You’ll support the Senior QS in managing costs, contracts, and procurement on a variety of residential groundworks projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Support procurement and subcontractor management
- Monitor project costs and budgets
- Help prepare tenders and cost estimates
- Conduct site visits to track progress and liaise with site teams
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
Requirements:
- HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or working towards)
- Previous experience with a contractor (ideally in groundworks or civil engineering)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Full UK driving licence
