- Description
- Managing a diverse portfolio of employee relations cases, providing timely and expert advice to managers and employees on a range of people matters.
- Supporting performance management activities, including capability processes, development planning, and the effective use of people data and HR systems.
- Leading attendance management processes, including absence monitoring, return-to-work discussions, and the management of long-term sickness cases.
- Providing clear and practical guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
- Building strong and effective relationships with managers, acting as a trusted advisor on people-related matters and supporting informed decision-making.
- Collaborating with Housing, Assets, and Corporate teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality HR service across the organisation.
- Supporting recruitment, retention, talent development, and apprenticeship initiatives to attract and develop a skilled workforce.
- Contributing to the delivery of the People Strategy, organisational change programmes, and wider corporate transformation initiatives.
- Identifying learning and development needs and facilitating access to appropriate training and development solutions.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Working in partnership with trade union representatives to build positive relationships and support effective employee engagement.
- Driving value for money through streamlined processes, continuous improvement, and the effective use of HR systems and resources.
- Profile
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or currently working towards it), or equivalent knowledge and experience gained in a similar role.
- Proven experience in an HR/People Advisory position, providing guidance and support across a broad range of employee relations matters.
- Sound understanding of employment law and HR best practice, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in the workplace.
- Experience supporting managers with performance, attendance, conduct, and capability issues, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively, and build positive relationships at all levels.
- Strong organisational and workload management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with data protection and compliance requirements.
- Experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders; experience of partnering with trade unions would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship programmes, talent development, and workforce planning initiatives would be beneficial.
- Strong IT skills, including experience using HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach, with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Demonstrates a commitment to health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
