Youth and Children’s Minister – Christ Church St Andrews, Herne Bay

Christ Church St Andrews is a welcoming, large evangelical Anglican church in the heart of Herne Bay in Kent. We have been encouraged by significant growth in the number of children, young people and families connecting with church life through our Sunday and midweek services, children and youth ministries, and schools ministry.

We are now seeking a Youth and Children’s Minister to build on these strong foundations and help develop our ministry among children and young people.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus with younger generations and helping children and young people grow in faith, discipleship and belonging within the life of the church.

The role will include:

• Developing our youth provision, including moving our current monthly Sunday youth group towards weekly provision.
• Leading and developing our Junior Church team and supporting children’s ministry on Sundays.
• Leading/developing our midweek youth group and helping young people grow as disciples of Jesus.
• Supporting our established links with local schools through assemblies, RE, Christmas and Easter services.
• Creating opportunities for outreach and open youth work among young people who are not currently engaged with church.
• Recruiting, encouraging, training and equipping a wider team of volunteers.
• Working collaboratively with the staff team and wider church family to build sustainable children’s and youth ministry.
