Our Client is recruiting for a Transport Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the entire transportation process, from planning and execution to ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. They manage vehicles, drivers, and routes, aiming to minimise costs, maximise efficiency, and provide reliable transportation services. This is a permanent position. Shift times are Monday to Friday 8.00pm to 6.00am or 7.00am when needed. This is a night shift. You will need experience working in Transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing logistics plans, including routing and scheduling.
- Optimising delivery routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Managing and coordinating the movement of goods or passengers.
- Ensuring vehicles are properly maintained, roadworthy, and meet safety standards.
- Overseeing vehicle maintenance, including MOTs, repairs, and fuel management.
- Ensuring drivers have valid licenses, are properly trained, and adhere to working hours regulations.
- Supervising drivers, managing their work schedules, and providing training.
- Ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to health and safety.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Managing operator licenses and compliance systems.
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of transportation operations.
- Generating reports and presentations to senior management and clients.
- Leading and motivating the transport team.
- Providing training and development opportunities for staff.
- Ensuring safe and secure transportation of goods or passengers.
- Implementing safety protocols and procedures.
