A well established and highly successful engineering company based in Medway Towns is looking to recruit a Castings Operative within their main factory initially on a temporary basis. This is a manual role with training provided. There is a permanent opportunity for the right candidate after a short qualifying period.
You will be responsible for the production of aluminium castings, including melt preparation, manual pouring of molten aluminium, washout, and knock-out processes. You will be working Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 16:30, 40 hours per week, £12.86 per hour. Overtime is also available at an enhanced rate.
Duties Include:
- Preparing materials and moulds for casting
- Pouring molten aluminium into ceramic moulds
- Moving moulds through the casting process
- Cleaning moulds after casting
- Manual handling
- Maintain and clean plant and equipment as required
- Completing basic production records via touch screen systems
Ideal Candidate:
- Manufacturing or production experience preferred (not essential)
- Physically fit as lifting will be involved and comfortable with manual work
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Willing to learn new skills
