We are recruiting on behalf of a privately-owned global company for a CAD Layout Designer on a permanent basis. You will be working Monday-Friday. The company designs and delivers solutions for various industries including commercial and public buildings, healthcare, restaurants, and marine vessels.
Role Purpose
To process approved drawings and produce detailed manufacturing layouts for CNC punching, brake press, and welding assembly processes, supporting efficient factory production.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed sheet metal component drawings for product assembly
- Programme and nest parts efficiently to minimise material waste
- Use CAD and CNC software packages to create accurate layouts
- Ensure all input data supports smooth folding and assembly processes
- Collaborate with R&D on continuous improvement and new product development
- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve issues
Candidate Profile
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Understanding of CNC punch programming
- Knowledge of brake press operations
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn new software and systems
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience operating/programming CNC punch machines (desirable)
- Background in sheet metal manufacturing
- Experience with 3D modelling (SolidWorks preferred)
- IT literate
