Our client, an established construction related business is seeking a reliable and detail-focused permanent Bookkeeper to join their busy finance team in the Epping area. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong experience in Bookkeeping, VAT/CIS, and SAGE who enjoys working in a varied role supporting a wider group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter financial data accurately into Sage and Insphire accounting software.
  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant financial records.
  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation alongside external accountants.
  • Complete and submit VAT and CIS returns.
  • Post prepayments and accruals.
  • Produce monthly financial statements including cash flow, P&L, and balance sheets.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other key ledgers.
  • Carry out general administrative duties such as answering calls, filing, and ad hoc support.
  • Support the sales and purchase ledgers when required.
  • Report directly to the Accounts Manager and work closely with the wider group.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar bookkeeping role is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 is highly advantageous.
  • Experience completing VAT and CIS returns.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Professional, reliable, and confident working with sensitive financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills.
